The Last Appeal • Men on Death Row

IVAN PARKS has been murdered . . . a local store owner who was shot at 11:30pm. This occurred after Ivan mysteriously left his house to take a walk. His wife TRISHA is left to answer the tough question . . . what would possess Ivan to go for a walk so late after his own store was recently robbed? Nobody seems to have the answer except Trisha, who refuses to share personal information.

Two days later, TITUS FREEMAN was caught, arrested, and eventually sentenced to death row for the pre-meditated murder of Ivan Parks. All fingers point to an act of retaliation. Apparently Ivan was able to gun down the thieves who broke into his store. Ironically, Titus did not know Ivan. He knew nothing about Ivan’s store or the attempted robbery. It was a mugging turned bad. He did the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Suddenly, Titus finds himself amongst men who are waiting for their own execution date. Men such as KURTIS, a hostile skin-head who is always looking for a fight; CLAYTON, a man of faith who role models true change to the other inmates; RANDY, an atheist who happens to be the only innocent man on death row (falsely accused with witnesses unwilling to testify); and DOC, an older gentleman who has fallen victim to post traumatic stress (Doc has not spoken a single word in 8 years- even to his own daughter).

Titus remains determined to get himself released from death row by writing a letter to the state governor every single day. In the meantime, Titus’ brother hires a trial lawyer to work the legal system. At this point, for Titus to truly be pardoned from his sentence, he must revisit a difficult part of his life . . . a past he has tried to forget.

Ultimately, the question still remains . . . what caused Ivan Parks to take a walk late that night? During a counseling session, Trisha Parks reveals a secret that turns everything upside down.
